~JC - Set Media Sensor Calibration

Recalibrates media and ribbon sensors

~JC - Set Media Sensor Calibration

Overview

The ~JC command forces a label length measurement and recalibrates both media and ribbon sensors. Ensures accurate media detection and proper label positioning after changing media types or when sensor readings drift.

Syntax

~JC

Parameters

None

Description

  • Performs sensor calibration
  • Measures label length
  • Calibrates media sensor
  • Calibrates ribbon sensor
  • Feeds media during process

Examples

When to Calibrate

Required After

  • Changing media type
  • Installing new media roll
  • Sensor drift detected
  • Inconsistent feeding
  • Media size change
  • Monthly for high-volume
  • After media storage change
  • When switching suppliers
  • Seasonal (temperature change)

Calibration Process

  1. Send ~JC
  2. Printer feeds media
  3. Sensors measure and adjust
  4. Calibration data stored
  5. Printer ready to print

Usage Notes

  • Printer will feed media during calibration
  • Process takes several seconds
  • In continuous mode: only media/ribbon sensors calibrated
  • No label length measurement in continuous
  • Essential for accurate printing
