^NB - Search for Wired Print Server during Network Boot
Decides whether the printer looks for a wired print server at boot, or defaults to the wireless one.
^NB tells the printer whether to look for a wired print server at boot. A
wired print server that the printer finds becomes the primary print server;
otherwise the printer uses the Wireless or Wireless Plus print server. With
the check enabled and no wired print server fitted, the printer waits 70
seconds on every boot. It then defaults to the wireless print server.
Syntax
^NBaSupport
Accepted and skipped, because it configures the printer rather than the label. It cannot change the rendered output, and Labelary skips it too.
A boot-time decision about which print server carries the job, made before any format arrives. The renderer does not parse this command. It reports IGNORED_COMMAND at info severity, which does not reach X-Warnings. Labelary is also silent, so the rendered label is identical in both engines. — not pinned by a test
Labelary renders this command.
Parameters
aCheck for wired print serveroptional · one of a setWhether the printer looks for the wired print server at boot. With C and no wired server fitted, the printer searches for 70 seconds, then defaults to the wireless one.
- Default
- S
- Invalid value
- not documented, and we have not measured it. The renderer does not parse or measure this command.
- Test coverage
- No documented value is exercised by a test (C, S).
C- Check, and prefer the wired print server if it answers
S- Do not check, and use the wireless print server (default)
Behavior
The printer makes this decision at boot, before any format arrives, and it selects only which print server carries the job. The label image does not follow from it.
The renderer ignores this command and reads no arguments. It reports
IGNORED_COMMAND at info severity, which does not reach the X-Warnings
header. Labelary is also silent, so the rendered label is identical in both
engines.
