^KP - Define Password

Overview

The ^KP command is used to define a password that must be entered to access the front panel switches and LCD setup mode. This security feature prevents unauthorized users from changing printer configuration settings. The password is a mandatory four-digit numeric code.

Syntax

^KPnnnn

Parameters

  • nnnn = Four-digit password
    • Valid: 0000-9999
    • Default: 1234

Description

  • Protects front panel access with password
  • Prevents unauthorized configuration changes
  • Requires four-digit numeric code
  • Helps secure printer in shared environments
  • Does not restrict ZPL command access

Usage Notes

  • Password must be exactly four digits (0000-9999)
  • Default password: 1234
